Casualties at Nery


These figures were published in the Cavalry Journal of April 1928. They show a high casualty figure for the Bays. Michael Mann's history states that the officer killed was Lieutenant C N Champion de Crespigny, and that 4 men were killed. He names the 8 wounded officers as Majors G H A Ing and A E Wentworth Harman, Captains E S Chance and W F G Renton, Lieutenants E Walker and F D R Milne, 2nd Lieutenants L W White and H D St G Cardew. Mann claims 35 men wounded and 80 horses killed, many having been lost also in the stampede.
