Officer's Bearskin Plume Holder


Gilt flaming grenade badge worn on the left side of the bearskin to fix the white plume. The device is the Royal Arms with Victorian crown. Below the motto is St Andrew with Union sprays of Thistle Rose and Shamrock either side. The battle honour WATERLOO in on a scroll beneath. The grenade was a badge of the Greys to mark their role as mounted grenadiers in the early 18th century.
