Trumpeters, Review Order c1908

The trumpet banner hung on the trumpeter's back is confirmed as blue in this Harry Payne postcard. It is attached to a brass trumpet, not silver as expected. Also the embroidery around the edge has been omitted. The trumpet and bugle cords are red, yellow and blue and it is clear that the bugle cords hang on the right shoulder. The two men have yellow embroidered crossed trumpet badges which do not show up well in contemporary photos. They wear pouchbelts which had been discontinued for the rank and file in the cavalry c1902. The back view of the bearskin shows the running Hanoverian Horse badge.
