Lieutenant R D Fordyce

Lieutenant Fordyce was in action at Kimberley with the Scots Greys. He and another subaltern, William Bunbury were both wounded in the legs after Boers at Dronfield Kopje shelled them. Lt Gordon Grant and Lt Lawson went out after dark to recover the two wounded officers. They had to be brought to safety from a distance of 6 miles. Lt Fordyce survived but Lt Bunbury died of his wounds.
