Captain Francis Stupart


Francis Stupart entered the regiment as a cornet in 1808 and was a lieutenant on 14 Dec 1809. He was wounded in the Battle of Waterloo and was promoted to Captain a month later on 20 July 1815. He went on half pay on 25 Mar 1816. The uniform he wears is the pre 1812 style as indicated by the shoulder scales. The medal was added to the portrait after 1815.
