| On 12 April 1864 Quartermaster-Sergeant Fergusson was promoted to Quartermaster. This photo was taken in 1868 a few years before he died on 27 Sep 1871. He wears the undress frockcoat mentioned in the 1864 Dress Regulations with flat braided loops across the chest. The previous 1861 pattern with corded loops can be seen in the photo of Adjutant Grieve VC. |
