The Greys in Wismar

The Scots Greys were equipped with Shermans for the north Europe campaign but this photo of the regiment entering Wismar on 2 May 1945 shows them in a Honey (Stuart) tank. There were many versions of the Honey, up to Mark 7, which had better weapons and thicker armour than earlier types, used for reconnaissance. The Greys and Canadians managed to beat the Soviets in the race to occupy this area of the Baltic.
