| The 1st Battalion served in India up to 1908, operating on the North West Frontier. The Maxim Gun section poses here with a sergeant at the gun and an officer kneeling on the right. The other ranks wear their chin straps hooked up to the top of the helmet but the officer has his under the chin. There are regimental badges on the front of the helmet for all ranks. |
