Buglers and Band 1899

The buglers march at the front of the column with the band behind them in this photo published in the Navy & Army Illustrated in 1899. The Sergeant Bugler leads the way holding a silver-topped cane. The buglers and band wear different uniforms. There are no side drums carried by the light infantry buglers as they remained purely buglers at this stage.
