Colonel The Hon Jon Russell

Russell was the first colonel of the Kings Regiment of Guards which was formed in England in November 1660. This was three months after the Royal Regiment of Guards had been raised in Dunkirk under Lord Wentworth. On the death of Wentworth the two units were amalgamated under Russell's command on 16th March 1665.
