Colours 1815

The Act of Union with Ireland in 1801 meant that the red cross of St Patrick was added to the union flag. The three turret castle was still in the middle but this time surrounded by the union wreath which now included shamrocks. The honours MAIDA and EGYPT were added although most regiments did not display their battle honours until 1820. The regimental number 27 was not shown in the corner at this time.
