El Morro

This amazing painting shows vividly the 42nd Royal Highlanders scaling the rubble from the broken wall to storm the breach. The British artillery on the left fire their mortars high into the air to go over the heads of the attackers. The rest of the troops are forced to wait while the ones in front traverse the ridge which is only wide enough for men to pass single file.
