Piper 1815

When the 42nd formed part of the army of occupation in Paris the Highlanders were of particular interest to the Parisians. This French print is useful for certain aspects of the uniform but fails to show the drone pipes on the instrument played by the Highland piper. He has a sword belt but is not carrying a sword. Although the red hackle indicates the 42nd, the style of the button loops suggests another regiment.
