Piper 1865

The doublet adopted by the Scottish regiments after 1855 was green for pipers. This piper is a lance-corporal with a single stripe on his right arm. On the fore-arm he has four long service stripes in gold lace. The cuffs are in the older style that was changed in 1872 to the gauntlet type. The plaid is Royal Stewart and he wears it scarf fashion, across his chest, with a plaid brooch on the left shoulder. He has no sword but a dirk on the right side. He is in full dress with no gaiters on his hose and shoes.
