Officer's Shako Plate 1829-31

The intricate design in the middle of this badge contains all nine battle honours awarded to the 50th up to that date. The gold lettering is placed on a backing of black velvet. The regiment was titled The Duke of Clarences's from 1827, but when the Duke of Clarence became King William IV in 1831, they changed title to The Queen's Own.
