Other Ranks Shako Plate 1839-1855

This brass badge was worn at first on the bell-topped shako and then, in 1844, on the Albert shako. It is for the light company. The battalion companies had a similar badge with only the number 3 in the middle while the grenadier company had a grenade instead of the stringed bugle.
