Officer's Shako Plate 1861-1869

A new shako was ordered for the infantry in 1861 which was lower in height. The badges were very similar to the previous ones in overall design except that the centre was open with either the badge of the regiment or the number in stencilled figures. Officers had a gilt star and crown with silver dragon and 3. The other ranks had a brass badge with a stencilled 3.
