Officers Waistbelt Clasp 1881

The basic design of the Buffs waistbelt clasp for officers did not change since it was introduced in 1856. The example shown here is post 1881 but prior to that date there was a 3 under the silver dragon and the wording in the circle was EAST KENT OR BUFFS. Other Ranks at first had a brass clasp with a simple 3 in the middle and EAST KENT REGIMENT. THE BUFFS around the circle.
