Officer's Collar Badge 1881-1894

Although this badge is more associated with the West Kent Regiment it was also used by the East Kent Militia and Volunteers. The two regular battalions of the Buffs wore this collar badge between 1881 and 1894. The Dress Regulations of 1883 and 1891 state that officers of the Buffs should wear the White Horse of Kent in silver with INVICTA on a gilt scroll underneath. From 1894 the Dragon badge was worn.
