Lieutenant Charles Hollis MC


This photo of Lieutenant Charles Frederick Griffith Hollis MC was published in volume 12 of The Great War. 'He appeared on a page of 42 officers from various regiments who had been killed in the closing stages of the First World War, the Roll of Honour 1918-19. 'The list of men killed from the Buffs for this war is very long. 'The list for the officers contains the names of 176 second lieutenants, 73 lieutenants, 52 captains, 8 majors and 11 lieutenant-colonels. Also on the list are Colonel F C Romer, Brig-Gen Julian Hasler, and Major-General E C I Williams.'
