Off to the Front 1914

This photo of the Buffs leaving England was published in a Folkstone newspaper in Sep 1914. The caption reads, 'Soldiers marching from Leas to Slope Road to embark for the front.' They are not carrying rifles so presumably these were stored on board beforehand.
