G E Briggs

The London Gazette announced the promotion of Major G E Briggs on 23rd May 1899, and his being placed on half pay on 1st May 1903 with the rank of brevet colonel. The photo shows him, on the left, outside his tent with the adjutant of the 3rd Battalion, Captain T P Hancock, when the battalion was in Egypt on manoeuvres.
