Officer's Waistbelt Plate 1881


The gilt plate has silver mounts of a thistle half-wreath with the regimental title above and the two main battle honours of the old 75th and 92nd represented by the Sphinx of EGYPT and the Tiger of INDIA, laid on top of the saltire cross of St Andrew. The plate is attached to the dress belt which is black leather with gold lace stripes. The black spaces between the stripes have thin Russia braid down the middle. This plate was also worn with the white leather undress belt.
