Quartermaster Sergeant 1897

The Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant was one of the few Warrant Officers in the Grenadier Guards, and the non-commissioned officer most likely to achieve commissioned rank, as Quartermaster. His title was usually shortened to RQMS. He has four gold chevrons surmounted by a star badge on his right upper sleeve. His collar has the top edge traced in half inch gold lace with the front of the collar filled in with gold. The grenade badge is silver wire embroidered, as are the badges on his shoulders. The back of the collar shows blue cloth below the gold lace edge.
