Guardsman, Guard Order 1994

The normal full dress for the Guards is scarlet tunic with blue facings, blue trousers and bearskin. It is incorrect to call it a busby; that is only worn by hussars and the Royal Horse Artillery. He carries the SA80 (L85AI) with the sight tucked under his arm and bayonet attached. Whereas line infantry wear rubber-soled boots the Guards have the old-style leather-soles with metal studs for greater sound effect when performing drill movements.
