Bandsman W Carlton 1904

Bandsman Carlton played a cornet Polka solo composed by Albert Williams, bandmaster of the Grenadier Guards Band, on 21 Sep 1904 at the St Louis Plaza. This was one of the performances at the St Louis Exposition. He and Lance-Corporal Gay wear the same style of uniform but Carlton has only one good-conduct stripe. He has two medals for the Boer War, the Queen's and King's South Africa medals, with clasps.
