Company Colour Marker c1913

The small crimson flags known as Company Colours are held by the Colour Sergeant on the parade ground on the spot where his company forms up. He and other company markers are put in place by the RSM and Adjutant. The companies march on and when they reach the marker, they mark time until everyone is in place and then the order is given to halt. This pre-1914 photo was taken at Wellington Barracks for the annual inspection.'
