HM Queen Victoria

Ackerman's print of 1851 depicts Queen Victoria in a costume that is not quite military. She is taking the salute from the Grenadier Guards who present arms and lower the Colour. She rides side-saddle on a horse that has field marshal's horse furniture. As monarch she was Colonel-in-Chief of all the household regiments during her reign.
