Officer's Waist-belt Clasp 1881

Previous belt clasps had included the number 4 or IV but the 1881 reforms removed the numbers from regiments and gave them territorial names. The title King's Own was kept so the words THE KING'S OWN appear on the lower half of the circle, and the new title ROYAL LANCASTER REGIMENT can be read across the top. The Ancient Badge of the lion remained but the numeral was replaced by a red-enamelled Lancaster Rose.
