Button, post 1881

Officers had gilt buttons while the rank and file had brass. The number IV did not appear on buttons or badges after the reforms of 1881. The wording on this button, on the left reads THE KING'S OWN and on the right ROYAL LANCASTER REGT. At the top is the Queen's crown, then the lion and the Lancaster rose beneath.
