| The battle of Spion Kop took place on 23rd/24th Jan 1900. This painting by Frank Craig was made, based on a sketch by a British officer. There is a man being stretchered down the hill in the foreground but it is unlikely that it would have been possible to bring any wounded down during daylight. |
