King's Colour, 1st Battalion c1820

Crimson silk with emblem, crown and honours painted on. The 1st Battalion emblem (Colonel's) is the Scottish lion in red on a yellow shield with the motto EN FERUS HOSTIS. The battle honours are EGYPT (Sphynx), LINCELLES, TALAVERA, BARROSA, PENINSULA and WATERLOO. The King's Colours for the 2nd Battalion would have had a small Union flag in the upper canton and the Lieut-Colonel's emblem of a thistle and rose conjoined, and the same battle honours.
