The Warwickshire Regiment

2nd Battalion Band c1899

The men and boys in this group all seem to be band members rather than Corps of Drums. The only wings visible are without fringes. The tunics are plain apart from the red and white wings. Two officers sit in the middle one of whom looks like Lieut-Col Jones. The man on his left hand is the band master, a Warrant Officer with gold lace on his collar and the edge of his blue cuff. He has no wings on his shoulders. The other senior NCO, sitting besides the other officer, is the sergeant-drummer as they were called at that time (now called a Drum-Major). The man with the big drum is the time-beater.
