Cap Badge, 1911


The badge had the arms of Lord Strathcona in the middle. The shield is crested with a beaver felling a tree. The shield is divided into three fesswise. The top part has a demi lion rampant, the middle has a railroad spike crossed with a hammer and the lower part has a boat with four rowers and a flag inscribed NW. The title LORD STRATHCONA'S HORSE ROYAL CANADIANS surrounds the shield and is wreathed with maple leaves, roses, shamrocks and thistles. On top is the crown of King Edward VII and the motto PERSEVERANCE.
