William John Vousden was an officer in the 5th Punjab Cavalry who acted very bravely on the Asmai Heights on 14th Dec 1879. He charged repeatedly against Kohistani tribesmen with a small group of men. He was born in 1845 on 20th September at Perth in Scotland. He rose to the rank of Major-General and died in Lahore while in command of the Punjab Frontier Force in 1902. |
