| We don't know at what date the regiment first adopted this or any badge. The titles Punjab Irregular Force and Punjab Frontier Force do not appear on this badge so it probably dates from the early days, pre 1851. The title 5th Punjab Cavalry was used again from 1901 to 1903 but at that time the regiment was using the Imperial crown on it's appointments. The crown here is the Queen's crown. |
