First Badge 1883


The first badge of the 9th Bengal Cavalry was this star, sanctioned in 1883. An eight-pointed silver star with the top point replaced by a crown. Only two battle honours were awarded to the regiment up to this point, DELHI and LUCKNOW. This badge lasted until 1886 when the regiment became lancers. It was worn on the waist-belt plate.
