| Subadar-Major Sandhya-das, Sardar Bahadur, OBI 1st Class of the 25th Punjabis. This officer entered the army in October 1878, he saw immediate service in Afghanistan 1878-79-80, for which he wears the medal with 2 clasps and bronze star; then Frontier fighting 1892, 1895, 1897-8 and as late as 1908. He was promoted to the Order of British India 1st Class with the title of Sardar Bahadur in 1910. He is included in the Punjabi group painted by Lovett (see Subadar-Major 25th by Lovett). |
