Overview
The British Empire stretched over not only a wide geographical expanse, but also over an equally wide period of time. Consequently, the quantity of units employed throughout the empire was quite significant. Most were raised from Britain, but many were raised from the colonies themselves. Over time, we hope to add as much information about these units as is possible. If you have any requests or any information that you would like to share on these pages then please email me at stephen@britishempire.co.uk

If you have a question concerning uniforms then please feel free to ask Charles Griffin

Those interested in Genealogy should head towards Rootsweb or search their Military Records

There is a particularly good group dedicated to British Regimental Histories at: Britregiments

For the other forces scattered across the empire try British Empire/Commonwealth Forces

And, of course, you can always try posting a question on our Discussion Board
