The Yeomanry

Badge pre-1898

The poor image is an enlargement from an illustration by B T A Griffiths as I have not seen an actual example. 'The regimental history, talking about changes made in 1898, says of this badge: 'the badge of a monogram S N Y C on two crossed swords surmounted by a crown, which for some years past had been the regimental device.' 'It is a muddled design made more confusing in that it uses an old-fashioned 'N' which is more like a lower case 'n'.'
