The Yeomanry

Officer's Jacket Back View

The second page of P W Reynolds's note-book focuses on the back of the jacket to reveal the small loops at the back of the collar and the knots in the braid emanating from the back buttons. The loops at the side of the jacket look as if they decorate real pockets whereas later versions of the hussar jacket have similar braid on false pockets. What is of great interest is the silver button at the bottom of the page which shows a decorated edge and the letters NOTTS Y.C. All the buttons on the jacket, 53 in all, are similarly marked and all the same size.
