Colonel Earl Manvers

Sydney William Herbert Pierrepont was born at Holme Pierrepont on 12th March 1826. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church Oxford. He and his wife had 5 children. 1844 Lieutenant in Sherwood Rangers 1850 became Viscount Newark 1850 married Georgine du Franquetot 1851 Captain in South Notts Yeomanry 1852 MP (Con) for South Notts 1854 Deputy Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire 1860 Inherited title of 3rd Earl Manvers 1868 Lieutenant-Colonel Commandant of South Notts Yeomanry 1879 Appointed Honorary Colonel of the South Notts Yeomanry 1900 Died on 16th Jan
