The Yeomanry

Sabretache 1826

The first pattern sabretache of the newly formed South Notts Yeomanry was of dark blue cloth with gold oak-leaf pattern lace around the edged and the embroidered cypher of George IV. The Roman numeral is shown as IIII below the reversed GR. It was worn from the year of the regiment's approval by His Majesty, 1826, and was probably worn after his death in 1830. It would have been too expensive for the regiment to order new sabretaches with William IV's cypher.
