The Yeomanry


WR T F Gascoigne DSO


Colonel Gascoigne commanded the Yorkshire Hussars from 1903 to 1908 and as a major commanded the company that was sent out to South Africa in January 1900. They were part of the 3rd Battalion Imperial Yeomanry. He was awarded the DSO for his service. The photo is a detail from a group photo taken in 1893. He is in a frock coat and is the only one wearing medal ribbons.
