Edwin Wilfred Stanyforth CB

This photo of Edwin Stanyforth was taken in 1893 when he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Yorkshire Hussars at the age of 32. He commanded the regiment during World War 1. He and his wife lived at Kirk Hammerton Hall where he organised building work on the church and village hall. He was a collector of old master paintings, and porcelain.
