Regimental Burial in India

This interesting series of photos comes from India in about 1930. It shows an elaborate funeral for one of their number, possibly an officer. At this stage any burials were the responsibility of the regiment itself. The IWGC was not responsible for the upkeep of any graves resulting from death outside of the War years. There are still many graves located through India and other colonies of soldiers who lost their lives either during their period of service or due to active service.
