Hong Kong Cemetery

These two picturesof the cemetery in Hong Kong nicely contrast through time and demonstrate the perpetual legacy envisioned by the Commission. The first picture from the 1940s shows the graveyard with impressive views over the waters around Hong Kong. The second picture taken 50 years later shows just how developed Hong Kong subsequently went on to become. And yet, the graveyard is still a peaceful resting place for those who died during the Second World War. You can also see how the temporary graves were replaced and updated to fit with the Commission's format for its graveyards.
