Colour Party 1914

This group includes an officer and other ranks. The officer holds the Ric-a-Dam-Doo which was embroidered by Princess Patricia. At this stage it was only a camp Colour, not having been consecrated. The other ranks escorting the Colour bearer do not have visible rank badges so we must assume they are privates. The colour illustration by Mike Chappell shows the sergeant with stripes on his left arm, so rank would be indicated on both sleeves. The officer's uniform is not clear in this photo and we cannot tell if he has rank stripes and badges on his cuffs.
