All Ranks, Summer Uniform 1987

The 3rd Battalion PPCLI were stationed at Work Point Barracks, Canadian Forces Base, Esquimalt, British Columbia, from 1970 to 1994. This parade in 1987 shows the PPCLI in their summer ceremonial uniforms. The officers are distinguished by gold rings of rank around their cuffs. The officer leading the Colour Party is a captain with two wide rings. The officer carrying the Regimental Colour is a 2nd lieutenant, with one wide gold ring. The officers also have a crimson sash around their waist with the tassels hanging on the left side, and are armed with swords. Sergeants and warrant officers have a red sash over the right shoulder. They wear green forage caps, the officers having gold braid on the peak.  The men do not wear gaiters, an item that was discontinued in the 1970s.
