Review Order 1913

The dress tunic for the rank and file changed in 1913 so that the shoulder straps were green like the collar and cuffs. The officers and other ranks’ tunics also, as from 1902, had more elaborate skirts at the back, with the return of the buttoned false pocket flaps, last worn in 1868.The regiment march past with their Colours led by an officer who is probably the commanding officer with a crown and two star badges on his shoulders. Rank badges were altered in 1904 to the present day system. He has a crimson sash around his waist and his sword is slung from a hidden webbing waist-belt worn beneath the tunic. The men have white leather waist-belts and carry their SMLE rifles at the slope.
